The view from my friend's house in Sheki, a region towards the north of Azerbaijan.
Rock climbing in Sheki. This wall was opened by two young couples from America. They heard about this business opportunity and took a chance and came out to see what they could do. Unfortunately, a wall opened up in Baku two weeks before. Otherwise they would have been the first wall in Azerbaijan. Only two manat to climb all day!
We spent the weekend in Ivanovka (five volunteers). It is a region to the East and West of Azerbaijan. It is only thirty miuntes away, but completely different than where we are living. The views were gorgeous, and hard to catch on camera, but here are a few tastes.
Wine Country
The cottage we stayed at from a Scottish Expat and his Russian Azerbaijani wife. They usually rent it out for a little more money, but gave us a deal as Peace Corps Volunteers. We cooked for ourselves in the kitchen, but they drove us to the winery and showed us around town. It was a really neat experience.
The winery we visited
Breath taking views.
Just for fun: Here is a picture of getting the Bankas on my back from when I am ill.
Wow! I have seen some examples of 'cupping' but this is the best one yet!! Did it seem to help?
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say that your other pics were good too. Blessings Emily. I pray for you often.
